Are you accepting new clients?
Yes, I am accepting new clients. You can email me at bonniekoehncounsellor@gmail.com (or fill out a contact form) to book a consultation or full session.
Do you offer free initial consultations?
Yes, I offer a free 15-minute initial phone consultation so you can get a sense of whether my energy and approach to therapy would be a good fit for you.
Do you offer online sessions?
My practice is solely online via video call for now, with the possibility of in-person sessions in the future. I also offer phone sessions, if preferred.
Are you licensed/registered?
I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors.
Can you direct bill to my insurance?
I do not provide direct billing to insurance. However, I can provide you with receipts to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Most insurance providers will provide reimbursement for sessions with an RCC or CCC.
Do you see children or teens?
I work with clients over the age of 18, but I’d be happy to refer you to practitioners who specialize in child and youth therapy.
Do you see couples?
Yes, I do. I enjoy working with couples of all genders and family structures.
Is your counselling practice LGBTQ+ affirming?
Yes, I work with people of all identities, and enjoy supporting clients at all stages of relationship with self and others. I celebrate diversity and recognize the unique experiences of every client.
What are your fees?
50-minute individual session: $140
50-minute couples session: $160
*Fees include 5% GST
Do you offer a sliding scale/reduced rates?
Yes, I offer a limited number of sliding scale and pro bono counselling spaces for clients facing financial barriers.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice require full payment.
Can you see clients from anywhere?
Most of my clients are from BC, but I can see clients from some other provinces. Insurance coverage and professional regulations for counsellors vary across Canada. Please let me know in your email or contact form where you live, and I will be able to provide you with information regarding your location.
